Summary:

The incumbent will have primary responsibility for the Quality Management System for the North American Marketing Organization (Product Inspection- PIUS MO). This scope includes the sales and service of products within the METTLER TOLEDO Industrial, Laboratory, and Retail divisions. It is expected that the Quality Manager will create and maintain visibility to quality issues that arise with products or delivery of services, with the goal of eliminating the root causes.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in unit activities to increase awareness of quality concerns.
  • Actively participate in the global Quality Circle to formulate and maintain quality objectives in line with corporate policies and goals.
  • Proactively detect quality issues and drive appropriate improvements.
  • Define and track appropriate quality metrics. Provide monthly report with defined quality metrics and summary of activities.
  • Facilitate creation of support materials for, and completion of, semi-annual Management Reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to increase awareness of product quality as well as the quality of customer experiences within the organization. This includes, but is not limited to customer complaints, direct warranty, distributor warranty, and returns data.
  • Lead the Internal Audit program, conducting regular audits of the Quality System.
  • Provide QMS & Quality Awareness Training to new and existing employees at scheduled intervals and as needed.
  • Send Customer inquiries/requests to GBSI to fulfill requests using controlled response matrix/catalog.
  • Align metric requests with business needs and team capabilities to streamline customer reporting.
  • Lead problem solving efforts and work closely with teams and other MT facilities / business units.
  • Provide responses and/or support for customer inquiries for Quality System information and Customer Audits.
  • Drive attention and resolution to the identified quality issues.

What You Need to Succeed
Education, Experience & Skills
  • BA/BS degree in Business, Quality Management, Industrial Engineering or related field required; or a minimum of eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior leadership experience in a fast-paced, results oriented environment.
  • Strong customer service, analytical, and reasoning skills. Better than average written and communication skills required.
  • Knowledge and/or experience applying lean principles to an office environment.
  • Significant experience with ERP and/or CRM systems.
  • Must be a self-starter who will identify problems and initiate corrective actions without specific direction from supervisor.
  • Strong ability to interface with other departments and teams in a professional and cooperative manner.
  • Exceptional time management skills, ability to multi-task projects and process improvements
  • Meets productivity standards while demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness at all times; looks for ways to improve and promote quality and assure desired business outcomes
  • Must be able to develop working relationships, trust, and confidence.
  • Drive attention and resolution to the identified quality issues.
  • Training & facilitation in problem resolution and process improvement.
  • Awareness of SAP QM and SAP processes highly preferred
