We are currently hiring a Senior Staff Accountant (Hoya North American Headquarters - Lewisville, TX)

What you'll do:
- Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
- Perform analytical review and analysis to ensure the accuracy of accounts and financial statements
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- GL analysis and account reconciliations; specifically, Cash and Accounts Receivable accounts
- Research and resolve discrepancies identified in A/R reconciliations and bank reconciliations
- Ensure the cash general ledger is accurately stated and balances tie to bank statements
- Monitor processes and controls related to A/R and cash to identify improvement opportunities
- Support due diligence process for potential acquisitions including reviewing financial statements, researching issues, and performing valuation analysis.
- Manage purchase price allocation and goodwill impairment testing for acquired companies.
- Account for acquisitions activities including preparing journal entries, determining fair value of assets/liabilities, and purchase accounting.
- Assist with post-acquisition reviews, synergies tracking, and reporting to executive management.
- Prepare schedules for year-end external audit
- Assist in the preparation of year-end forecast and budget
- Assist with the special projects and ad hoc analysis
- Integral part of system implementation planning and execution
- Lead projects and work with other functional areas to accomplish tasks
- Work with management to identify and resolve control weaknesses, inefficiencies, process deficiencies, etc.
- Responsible for carrying out the initiatives of management and accomplishing goals and objectives
- Work with management to develop and execute the goals and objectives of other functional areas
- Handle confidential data with integrity and professionalism
Qualifications:
- B.B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting / Finance
- Accounting with 5-7 years of experience
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS
- Accrual Accounting experience
- Proficient in MS Excel - including v-lookups, pivot tables, and nested formulas; macros a plus
- SAP experience a plus
- Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Self-Starter with a strong work ethic
- Ability to multi-task with good organizational skills
- Demonstrates initiative to new challenges
- Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time
