Your role and responsibilities

Lead improvement of processes related to PVC thermoset molding processes, including support processes
Develop and apply lean tools to improve manufacturing and business processes
Demonstrate knowledge and application of emerging tools like AI and collaborative robots
Perform engineering duties under the guidance of a manager and with other experienced engineers
Use strong team leadership skills to grow our team's abilities and build a culture of continuous improvement
Use problem solving methods to resolve technical problems and implement root cause corrective actions
Work closely with other departments to implement improvement and corrective action solutions
Document clear and concise processes and safety controls to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field and a minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in PVC thermoset molding application. Alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments
  • Ability to show past achievement of process improvement techniques using lean system tools
  • Experience with multiple manufacturing processes including: Injection rubber molding, Impact extrusion, Power press work (Not press brake), Cold Heading, CNC Machining (Tooling, Fixturing and Programming), PVC Thermoset molding, assembly. COBOT experience a plus
  • Proven experience as a thermoset engineer or similar role with strengths in lean systems or continuous improvement engineer
  • CAD experience a plus (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CREO, etc...)
  • Familiarity with database systems and data manipulation. Power BI or similar visualization systems a plus
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
