Our client has been around for over 30 years and is committed to helping all of their large commercial clients keep their landscapes looking polished, well-designed, and well taken care of. They are currently looking for a Senior Accountant to help ensure records are accurate, compliance is being followed, and to provide support in reporting and analysis. This role will report directly to the Controller.

Responsibilities
Financial Record Oversight:
  • Ensure accuracy and harmony of ledger accounts.
  • Timely and precise recording of financial transactions.
  • Generation of necessary journal entries.
  • Oversight and reconciliation of bank statements.
Financial Documentation:
  • Aid in assembling financial statements monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Prepare a spectrum of financial reports and analyses for managerial assessment.
  • Uphold adherence to GAAP and relevant regulatory protocols.
Financial Projection Assistance:
  • Backing the budgeting and forecasting endeavors through data and analysis provision.
  • Participation in variance scrutiny to pinpoint patterns and potential areas for attention.
Audit Assistance:
  • Aid in creating audit schedules and furnish assistance during auditing processes.
  • Guarantee internal control compliance and contribute to enhancing protocols as necessary.
Taxation Support:
  • Assist in preparing tax filings and ensuring conformity with tax statutes.
  • Maintenance of records and documentation to facilitate tax audits.
Process Enhancement:
  • Identification of prospects for process optimization and efficiency augmentation within the financial realm.
  • Participation in cross-functional teams to actualize improvements and streamline operations.
Special Assignments:
  • Backing unique projects and undertakings as directed by leadership.
  • Provision of financial insight and analysis to inform decision-making.
Project Cost Oversight:
  • Monitoring costs related to landscaping and construction projects encompassing materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Vigilance over project budgets and analysis of discrepancies.
Inventory Oversight:
  • Supervision of inventory control protocols for landscape materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Periodic inventory assessments and resolution of discrepancies.
Tailored Financial Reporting:
  • Contribution to crafting financial statements tailored to the landscape and construction sector.
Requirements
  • BA in Accounting/Finance/Business
  • 5-7 years experience, including GAAP & finance

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
