Sam Schwartz, a TYLin Company, is seeking Roadway Safety Experts for our New Jersey office. These positions will be full-time on-site assignments for a New Jersey agency (located in Ewing, NJ), supporting safety, bicycle and pedestrian activities. These positions will provide a range of engineering and planning services, including crash analyses, program management and support, establishing safety targets and KPIs, plan and conceptual design review, and interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

Ideal candidates will have strong understanding and application of substantive safety including, the NJ SHSP, the Highway Safety Manual (HSM), the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP), Complete Streets, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure design, ADA Compliance and the Safe System Approach. The candidate should have an understanding of the capital project delivery process and design experience.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The selected individual will perform various tasks, such as:
* Provide SME review and guidance for State, county and municipal projects.
* Perform crash analyses.
* Support and manage safety focused programs.
* Manage internal and external stakeholders.
* Develop safety targets, Key Performance Indicators, and summary reports.
* Support SHSP activities and action items.
* Review HSIP Assessments and support HSIP performance plans.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualities:
* Excellent written, verbal communication, and analytical skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.
* Experience managing transportation projects.
* Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., HSM, AASHTO, MUTCD, NACTO, NJDOT Design Manual and other reference publications).
* Bachelor's degree in urban planning, civil engineering, or related field.
* PE, AICP, RSP certifications are preferred.
* Authorization to work in the U.S.


Additional Information

This is an Onsite role with 5 days a week required on site at client location.
