Job Description

The position of Curriculum Developer, Upward Bound Math/Science (UBMS) is a temporary grant-funded position responsible for designing and developing engaging and innovative curriculum materials for the UBMS summer program. This program aims to provide high school students from underrepresented backgrounds with opportunities to enhance their skills in mathematics and science, as well as prepare them for success in higher education.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Researching and gathering relevant educational resources to be used for designing a comprehensive curriculum framework that aligns with program objectives and meets the needs of diverse learners.
  • Developing lesson plans, instructional materials, and hands-on activities that promote active learning and student engagement.
  • Creating assessments and evaluation tools to measure student progress and program effectiveness.
  • Revising and updating curriculum materials based on feedback from instructors, students, and program stakeholders.
  • Providing training and support to program staff on implementing the curriculum effectively.
To be considered you'll need:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in education, curriculum development or a directly related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in curriculum development, preferably in mathematics or science education.
  • Knowledge of educational theories, pedagogical approaches, and best practices in curriculum design.
  • Proficiency in educational technology tools and software.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and accessible materials.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and culturally responsive teaching practices.
