Position Summary

This position will lead a team of Production Artists tasked with creating packaging artworks. All artwork executions are coordinated with the client to maintain the integrity of the approved designs and themes. The Production Artist Team Lead must thrive in a professional, fast-paced environment, and lead a team across multiple projects. Able to exercise high level of discretion and latitude in completing tasks.

Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Results

  • Communicate standards to team of Production Artists
  • Train and mentor Production Artists team to meet standards
  • Assign and monitor work as needed
  • Review job ticket instructions to determine requirements of job production
  • Executes creative and graphic concepts in collaboration with assigned team
  • Use appropriate software applications to (Illustrator, Photoshop CS suite and later) perform the electronic assembly function of preparing files for digital production
  • Quality control all work performed following the department's standardized procedures
  • Reviews the work of junior Production Artists
  • Update the schedulers & Customer Service regarding job(s) status
  • Collaborate with co-workers to ensure project is completed properly
  • Attend necessary online meetings when required or requested
  • Assist in the development of written procedures as new clients and projects are added
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and various production meetings to foster a positive creative impact on the business

Competency Requirements

  • Experience using Illustrator, Photoshop and general knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience of applying print standards to image content preferred
  • Experience working in and maintaining a color managed environment preferred
  • Understanding of file types used in print and in digital applications
  • Practical experience applying principles of color theory preferred
  • Experience in masking techniques
  • Creative experience in packaging environment preferred
  • Proficient with current Mac OS

Educational & Experience Minimum Requirements

This position requires the following knowledge and skills:

  • Some College/Associate's Degree preferred
  • 5+ years' experience preferred
  • Trade school certificate in Graphic Arts/Printing preferred
  • Full comprehension in reading work instructions and business memos

  • Employee is required to sit/stand for up to 8 hours per day, talk and hear, input data into computer via keyboard and mouse.
  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in an indoor office environment, but occasionally may be required to be on the manufacturing shop floor.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
