As the Business Process Owner - Product Applications, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining our enterprise systems to drive organizational success and innovation that support our global product management teams. Your responsibilities will be spread across critical areas, each designed to optimize system performance, enhance stakeholder engagement, and ensure the seamless operation of applications.

In this role, you are at the heart of our digital transformation efforts, ensuring our systems are not only responsive to current needs but also future-proofed against emerging challenges that our product management teams experience. Your strategic oversight, product management acumen, and collaborative spirit will directly influence the efficiency, productivity, and innovation capacity of Simpson Strong-Tie, making a lasting impact on our operational excellence and market leadership.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)

System Configuration Planning and Oversight (20%)

Partner with stakeholders to capture business requirements and convert them into actionable system configuration plans and/or custom development requirements.

Lead the implementation consultant team during the implementation phase, aligning system functionalities with business needs.

Coordinate with implementation consultants, PMO and internal IT teams, ensuring a smooth transition and integration of system ownership for system administration and configuration during the shift to the support phase.

Launch and Deployment Support (20%)

Support the development of a detailed project roadmap, implementation strategy, working with project management to define key timelines, milestones, and resource needs.

Work alongside cross-functional teams to guarantee a smooth system rollout and minimal operational disruption.

Offer technical support throughout the deployment phase, including testing, data collection/cleansing, and initial live operations.

System Support and Governance (20%)

Establish system governance protocols, user access control, and system of records requirements for Simpson Strong-Tie product data in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Act as the primary contact for system inquiries, troubleshooting, and support, offering escalation support as necessary.

Lead knowledge transfer sessions to ensure effective system management and maintenance practices.

Continuous Improvement and Enhancement (20%)

Identify and implement system optimization and enhancement opportunities, drawing on user feedback and best practices.

Collaborate closely with IT on system upgrades, customizations, and integration efforts, fostering a culture of innovation.

Champion the introduction of new system features and functionalities to maximize enterprise system value.

Stakeholder Engagement and Change Management (20%)

Cultivate and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders, ensuring system developments align with business objectives through strong interpersonal skills with experience in engaging, communicating, and collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups. This includes the ability to negotiate, persuade, and manage expectations effectively, ensuring alignment and buy-in across various levels of the organization.

Serve as a bridge between business users, IT, PMO and consultant teams, facilitating a unified approach to system enhancements.

Develop and implement change management strategies to enhance user adoption and minimize resistance, optimizing system benefits through the understanding of change management principles and practices. You should be adept at planning and implementing change initiatives, managing the human side of change, and driving adoption of new processes and systems.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with implementation of an enterprise software platform, in particular product portfolio management software (i.e. Planview or Sopheon).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in product management, demonstrating a solid understanding of managing product portfolios, balancing product and market needs, and the intricacies of strategic portfolio alignment.
  • Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and conceptualize improved workflows, particularly within the context of product and project management.
  • While a deep technical IT background isn't necessary, you should have strong analytical skills to assess business needs, make data-driven decisions, and solve problems creatively. This includes a willingness to dive into the details of both product management and project management to identify areas for improvement.
  • Knowledge of project management basics, with the ability to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This understanding will support effective project oversight and the successful implementation of business process improvements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment where standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. are frequently used.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires 10% domestic travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt position is located at Simpson Strong-Tie's McKinney, TX or Gallatin, TN offices. Other Simpson Strong-Tie locations or remote work can be considered for the ideal candidate.

RELOCATION

Relocation will not be considered for this position.

PAY

$80,300 - $125,300 / Year
* Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location.
