Position Description

The McKesson Medical Surgical Government Solutions (MMSGS) Government Sales, Finance Manager a key role that provides critical financial contributions across the business unit, continually improves business processes, and provides value-added analysis and insights to leadership that lead to improved decision-making. The role has a blend of routine deliverables (monthly reporting, periodic forecasts and annual planning), business partnering to the sales organization, collaboration across FP&A departments in MMS, foster process improvement activities and ad hoc analysis. The position reports to the Sr. Finance Manager of Enterprise Sales FP&A.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Sales and Gross Profit monthly reporting and periodic forecasting processes, which include strong collaboration with other team members for inputs, sense-checking and challenging the inputs, consolidating, providing variance explanations, preparing presentations for leadership consumption, measuring and improving forecast accuracy and identifying and implementing continuous process improvement and automation ideas.
  • Develops the Government Compensation Plan by forging strong relationships with Business Partners including sales leaders, sales territory management, and sales compensation teams to ensure accurate generation of Sales Compensation Plan for the Government segment.
  • Develops and maintains at a highly proficient level knowledge of multiple financial systems (such as Snowflake, Essbase, PowerBI); shares knowledge with Finance teammates.
  • Build strong relationships across the enterprise and become a trusted finance business partner.
  • Independently creates financial models to analyze various commercial opportunities. It is expected that at least one-third of these opportunity analysis modeling will be self-initiated.
  • Performs ad-hoc analysis and additional duties as directed by immediate manager and other Sales FP&A leaders.
  • Leads the partnership with other finance teams to ensure accurate month-end close reporting with a focus on variance explanations.
  • Leads the partnership with the finance systems team to improve business processes, reporting and analytics.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of successful progressive Finance and/or Accounting experience
  • Experience in coordinating and consolidation of monthly results, forecasts and annual plans
  • Experience with coordinating and setting Compensation Plans a plus
  • Experience with SQL and PowerBI (or similar) a plus
  • Strong ability to influence and partner effectively with finance and accounting peers and leadership, the Enterprise sales leadership team and others across the enterprise; able to challenge the status-quo
  • Excellent understanding of accounting and finance principles and business system tools
  • Expert-level in Excel, PowerPoint and large data management
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal. Comfortable developing and presenting financial-related topics to business partners and leadership

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or other business major; Master's degree (MBA, Finance, etc.) preferred

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$92,300 - $153,800
