Document Control Drafter

Pay Rate: 25 an Hour

SUMMARY

Provides drafting and document control support on new and existing products. This includes drawing activities (layout and detail), document revisions, and component specification. Sustaining Engineering is responsible for the maintenance and critical review of engineering processes and documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Initiate, coordinate, and process ECO's and TVA's (Temporary Variance Allowance).
  2. Utilize CAD software to update or create drawings for new jobs or modifications to existing products using marked up prints and verbal communication.
  3. Use ERP system for bills of material entry, engineering changes and part number entry and revision levels.
  4. Support products through the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process to ensure the thorough, correct, and timely completion of engineering changes.
  5. Create from mark ups and maintain bills of materials, drawings, product user manuals, test specifications, and other documentation as needed for new and existing products.
  6. Research and correct ERP errors and issues. Look for opportunities of improvement.
  7. Provides backup support to Engineering Sustaining Manager and Product Development team as required
  8. Perform other work, as required, in support of the creation and maintenance of Engineering documentation and processes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate degree in Mechanical Design (2 years) or equivalent experience in design of mechanical systems involving sheet metal and electrical components. Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and/or Inventor or other 3-D based workstations
