The Harper Lab at the Center for Gene Therapy at Nationwide Children's Hospital (NCH) is focused on developing gene therapies for muscular dystrophies and neuropathies. We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and independent Senior Research Associate to join our energetic, diverse and innovative team. We do molecular, cellular, and in vivo work. The ideal candidate will have experience in molecular biology and biochemistry (e.g. molecular cloning, western bloting, qPCR, various in vitro assays, and cell culture), as well as show talent or promise in scientific writing. Pre-clinical work in animal models may also be needed. This person will develop and validate new protocols for in vitro and in vivo experiments and will be responsible for training and directing junior lab members. A strong candidate will also have outstanding organization skills.
The Harper Lab operates as a team and we promote and esprits de corps and work-life balance. Our philosophy centers on the notion that productivity is more important than time spent in the lab, and although we seek an individual capable of working on-site daily, we are open to flexible working hours.
This position includes excellent retirement and health insurance benefits.
