WHAT WE OFFER
The Head of Artificial Intelligence has the regional responsibility for all processes, procedures, initiatives, and projects in the area of Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Analytics and Autonomy for Covestro worldwide. This position combines strong leadership capabilities with leading technical expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Analytics and Autonomy and will be the driving force to apply them across all Covestro Business Entities, Functions, and sites in the Americas region. This role will lead a regional team of 5-8 employees.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
- Accountable for the implementation of the enterprise-wide AI strategy in the Americas region that aligns with the business goals and objective, in light of the overall Covestro strategy.
- Identify opportunities, potentials, and focus areas to leverage AI, technologies across various functions within the Americas region.
- Ensure collaboration between cross-functional teams to develop and deploy AI solutions that drive innovation and improve operational efficiency.
- Provide guidance on global governance procedures on AI in the Americas region.
- Establish partnerships with external vendors, research institutions and associations in the Americas region to enhance Covestro's perception as a leader in leveraging AI.
- Ensure data privacy and security are maintained while implementing AI, /landscape in the Americas region.
- Provide leadership to teams of teams of AI professionals and provide mentorship and guidance as needed.
WHAT YOU OFFER
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, AI or a related discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience; OR PhD with 5 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD is preferred
- Experience in leadership roles in an international environment with global/international teams
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience in developing and curating use case portfolios in earlier roles and have proven capable of both introducing and scaling Machine Learning /AI technologies in established companies.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to work on a variety of different business problems.
- Exceptional program management skills.
- Collaborative, team player mindset.
- Ability to influence and present to colleagues from different fields and different managerial levels.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
