BASIC FUNCTION:

A ward secretary is a non-licensed person who performs clerical, receptionist and related duties on the senior care unit under the direction of a registered nurse. A Clinical Technician performs various duties to assist with the provision of patient care. These duties are performed within the parameters of the Clinical Technician Job Description and Performance Standards, under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

High school graduate with the ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology

  1. Age 18 or older.
  2. Successful completion of nurse aide state testing required.
  3. Currently certified in CPR/BLS, or able to successfully complete CPR/BLS certification through American Heart Association within 3 months of hire.
  4. Successful completion of the Clinical Tech orientation program.
  5. Must be computer-literate to complete task(s) as required. Such as MediTech (Hospital Support Software), Halogen (performance appraisal system) Relias (education system), ability to retrieve e-mails, complete online enrollment for health insurance/benefits and any other programs as assigned.
  6. Crisis Intervention and De-Escalation (CIDE) certification within three months of hire.
