POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:

Develop and maintain Quality Systems as assigned by the Manager of Quality Assurance. Act as the Quality System expert in the assigned area. Meet customer's special requirements as defined by those customers and communicate their requirements throughout the business. Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, teamwork, and trust.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two plus years of experience with quality-related activities in manufacturing.
  • Experienced in problem solving techniques such as: 8D, 5Why, 3D, C&A diagrams.
  • Experienced in an ISO/TS16949 and/or IATF 16949:2016, ISO17025 and A2LA certified organization.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers, suppliers, and employees at all levels of an organization.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with AIAG, ASTM and SAE specifications.
  • Proficient in the advanced features of Microsoft Office product (Word).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CRM software such as Salesforce.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five plus years' experience with steel rod, bar and wire products and processes.
  • Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control.
  • Trained and experienced as a Lead Auditor for ISO9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 or ISO17025.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Proficient in the basic features of Microsoft Office product (PowerPoint, Access, Excel).

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Maintain Level I and Level II and Level III quality system documentation.
  • Plan, conduct and lead Audits for ISO9001:2015 and IATF16949:20126 and ISO17025.
  • Lead Supplier 2nd Party audits.
  • Manage all aspects of internal Audits to IATF and A2LA standards.
  • Maintain the CAR, SCAR, PPAP and IMDS data base systems for automotive customers.
  • Lead problem solving teams related to corrective action requests focusing on root cause identification.
  • Ensure Quality System documentation such as FMEA, Control Plan and Process diagrams are current, compliant, and complete.
  • Conduct verification audits to ensure that corrective actions taken are acceptable and effective.
  • Train associates on quality-related processes.
  • Will be familiar with all of the customer specific requirements for all Charter Steel customers.
  • Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.
  • Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CRM software such as Salesforce.

POSITION CHALLENGES:

  • Responding on a timely basis to changes in ISO9001:2025 and IATF16949:2016 quality system requirements and ISO17025 Lab system requirements.
  • Assuring accurate and timely communication between customers, Technical Service Engineers, and Quality Control employees.
  • Managing multiple priorities as customer issues arise.
  • Keeping corrective actions assigned to departments moving to meet deadlines.
  • System solutions as a result of corrective actions.
  • Assistance in implementation and verification of system solutions as a result of corrective actions.
