YOU

YAs a Maintenance Technician - AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) Specialist you will be responsible for supporting Production and Operational needs while focusing on problem solving, troubleshooting, and maintaining material handling equipment such as Automated Guided Vehicles, Autonomous Mobile Robots, vision systems, controls, safety controls, and onboard diagnostic needs throughout the plant and warehouse along with assisting in the everyday maintenance needs of the plant as needed. That's year one.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)

Install, start-up, and provide maintenance on plant/facility electrical equipment and control systems. Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based control systems. Integrate existing and new equipment, as needed. Identify, maintain, and troubleshoot motor controls, including motor starters, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and standard electrical components. Troubleshoot industrial electrical. Communicate technical issues to facilities and operations management. (40%)

Install, troubleshoot, diagnose, start-up, and maintain all existing and new plant/facility AGV equipment. Integrate existing and new equipment, as needed. Troubleshoot non-functioning controls, sensors, charging stations, vision systems, hardware, and software. Communicate technical issues to maintenance, facilities, warehouse, and operations management. (20%)

Perform and assist maintenance needs of the plant as needed. (20%)

Create, design, and fabricate, as needed, for mechanical improvements. (10%)


Educate, train, and develop fellow peers on any additional skills necessary. (10%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or a combination of education and experience is required.
  • Simpson Strong-Tie Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification (will certify at hire) required.
  • 3 years minimum experience with PLC's, VFD's, AGV's, AMR's, electrical controls, and industrial equipment.
  • 5 years minimum experience in industrial maintenance experience.
  • Safety: Strongly understand and ensure compliance with LOTO and energy isolation. Strongly understand and ensure compliance with the NFPA 70E-Electrical Safety in the Workplace, NFPA 70 (NEC), and OSHA Standards. Help to improve the safety culture.
  • Dependability: Able to consistently demonstrate reliable and punctual attendance.
  • Maintenance Knowledge: Have experience supporting a wide range of different Automated Guided Vehicles, Autonomous Mobile Robots, AGV charging stations, PLC programming, conveyors, sortation systems, robotics, palletizing systems, and large manufacturing equipment within an IACS (Industrial Automation Controls System).
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is required.
  • Understand and effectively install electrical components, vision control systems, wiring, and all electrical & mechanical necessary to meet local and federal codes.
  • Project management skills: Ability to effectively manage and participate in large scale projects involving installing new equipment and relocating existing equipment.
  • Software and technology: Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point. Proficient with AutoCAD. Experience with Smartsheet is preferred. Ability to learn new software including, but not limited to, CMMS.
  • PLC Software: PLC programming expertise is required. Writing, modifying, troubleshooting, and editing programs. Proficient with Rockwell's RS Logix 500 & 5000, FactoryTalk Suite Platform, FactoryTalk View, Studio 5000, RS Linx; Automation Direct's Do-more, C-more, Direct SOFT, and CLICK.
  • Ability to be creative. Design and fabricate. Be able to take an idea from concept to paper to reality.
  • Teamwork: Maintain a collaborative approach in dealing with other Simpson Strong-Tie employees. Ability to work on projects with other team members.
  • Focus and Results: The ability to concentrate on a task over time without being distracted.
  • Speaking and Communication: Communicate effectively with co-workers, listen with full attention to what other people are saying while understanding the needs expressed, and ask questions appropriately. Having the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and other organization employees is also necessary.
  • Mathematics: Knowledge of advanced arithmetic, algebra, geometry.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand blueprints, schematics, and diagrams is required.
  • Self-Management: Ability to display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment while standing and regularly twist and bend in a repetitive motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.

TRAVEL

This position requires less than 5% domestic travel.

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$27.00 - $35.00 / hour
