BASIC FUNCTION:

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse assists in the nursing care of patients having upper and/or lower Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, and Special Procedures in both the Center for Digestive Health and Inpatient ESP1. The nurse functions independently in the pre-procedure, procedure and post-procedure Endoscopy and Special Procedure areas and the Inpatient Endoscopy and Bronchoscopy (ESP1) areas.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Registered Nurse currently licensed by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
• The Charge Nurse must have worked in the Endoscopy Unit for at least 3 years and must have experience assisting with all the departmental quality projects with an understanding of how to complete them independently.
• The Charge Nurse is responsible for knowledge of departmental, equipment, and Provation troubleshooting.
• Maintains current B.L.S./A.C.L.S. certification. Casual Part Time RNs not assigned-on call are exempt from the A.C. L.S. requirement.
• Joins and maintains membership in O.N.A. and the Alliance Local Unit of O.N.A. within 31 days of employment.
• Must be computer-literate to complete the task(s) as required. Such as Meditech (Hospital Support Software), Halogen (performance appraisal system), Relias (education system), ability to retrieve e-mails, complete online enrollment for health insurance/benefits and any other programs, as assigned.
