Job Description

Business Financial Analyst

The Business Financial Analyst role is to drive improvements in financial performance by reviewing and analyzing field operations results and is the point person for responding to financial inquiries from the field team. The Business Financial Analyst will report directly to the US & Canada Controller.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Review monthly financial reporting from all US & Canadian field regions, analyzing trends and variances from budget, prior year, etc.
  • Point person for addressing financial questions from Field personnel.
  • Develop plans for resolution of financial issues that arise.
  • Communicate corporate accounting policies to US & Canada regional divisions.
  • Analyze monthly financial statement package as it relates to the impact to the regions and overall field financial performance.
  • Provide strategic advice to US & Canadian field leadership and corporate senior leadership team in regard to profitability of products, locations and customers.
  • Coordinate and support the Executive General Managers to analyze detailed financials to support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecast processes, analyze working capital levels (identifying issues and other key metrics).
  • Provide indirect support to APHC Corporate Accounting department.
  • Monitor Capex projects against approved budgets and provide analysis of proposed new spending.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field. A Master's degree in business administration is preferred.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in accounting in a manufacturing or similar environment.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Business Acumen

  • Experience working as an accountant with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Familiarity with various ERP systems and consolidation software.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and research skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficient in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to make independent decisions based on investigation and judgment with the ability to discern when to escalate issues.

Communication Skills

  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills to present information concisely to management, employees and peers.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with executives, managers, and employees.
  • Proactive team player.

Work Environment

Office setting with partial remote (partial remote work not guaranteed to continue). Potential travel time may be required.
