This position is part of the Intercable Automotive Solutions team and is located in Warren, Ohio.

Summary:

Intercable Automotive Solutions is a business unit with Aptiv and is the industry leader in busbar (solid electrical conductor) technology. The Product Design Engineer will be part of a dynamic international design team. They will develop cutting edge products that solve our customer's toughest challenges; specifically high voltage products for hybrid and electric vehicles. The Product Design Engineer will interface with internal teams (manufacturing, sales, quality, etc.), customer teams, and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

• Development of new, innovative product solutions in the automotive sector with a focus on hybrid/e-vehicles, busbar and wiring systems, and technical plastic components
• Independent planning and supervision of the product development process, from the product idea to series production and taking on the necessary responsibility
• Close cooperation with customers, specialist departments and suppliers
• Participate and/or lead internal and external design reviews
• Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred)
• Experience/working knowledge of basic component design
• Excellent command of the English language
• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
• Experience in product development is an advantage (preferably in the automotive sector)
• Good knowledge of CAD software such as NX, PTC Creo Parametric, or CATIA
• Resourcefully innovative and ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment
• Highly motivated to achieve success
• Positive attitude and contributing team player

Nice to Haves:

• 2+ years' experience in automotive
• 1+ years' experience in a team environment
• Multi-tasking team player with a hands-on approach
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Teams, etc.)
• Exposure to manufacturing environment
