PURPOSE OF THE JOB
* The Human Resources (HR) Associate provides HR and business support to leadership at the Newark plant. This is a key position in the HR Team, responsible to meet requirements of three Union contracts for hourly, weekly payroll and attendance. Associate will administer the plant Kronos timekeeping system to enter and manage employee's time and pay and use other HRIS to assign learning, lead training, and track HR metrics. This position will involve plant wide employee interaction.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
SAFETY
* Follow and enforce all safety rules, regulations, procedures, training, and initiatives.
* Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas.


HUMAN RESOURCES
* Develop a reputation and operate as a trusted advisor and business partner.
* Hourly Kronos Payroll Administrator (KPA) - Meet weekly payroll mandates, track error rates, and take action to improve and simplify process. Work days, Monday through Friday. Work with programmers to improve, test, or schedule specific pay events. Train Kronos users.
* Update daily attendance and provide information to HR Leads for timely discipline.
* Maintain all HR files for pay and attendance.
* Coach employees and supervisors with confidence and candor, consistent with My Leadership Accountabilities, The Owens Corning Story, and OC Guiding Principles.
* Talent Development: coach supervisors and guide employees on the Kronos Timekeeping System.
* Serve as a point of contact for plant employees on HR related matters, HR policies, benefits, processes, payroll, employee handbook, guidelines, and resources.
* Administer HRIS including SuccessFactors, Talent Center, Kronos, etc. to enter and manage employee's time and pay, assign learning, lead training, and track HR metrics.
* Develop, prepare, and maintain comprehensive reports generated through HRIS and business information systems. Track metrics and take actions to improve performance training and policy change recommendation.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and requirements pertaining to the management of HR to minimize risk and exposure to the company.
* Interface with outside agencies on issues including health care and other benefits, workers' compensation, disability leave, unemployment, Union dues and charitable contributions, and employee and community events. Conduct new hire, benefits, safety, and visitor orientation.
* Support the administration of FMLA, disability, and other leaves of absence and take action to improve performance.
* Actively engage in personal development.

COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES
* Proficiency operating a computer and other keyboard instruments, utilizing Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong Excel skills including working knowledge of pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, etc.
* Ability to learn and accurately use HRIS, Kronos, Kronos Analytics and SuccessFactors

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
* Minimum education high school diploma.
* Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Payroll Processing required.
* Manufacturing experience is preferred.
* Demonstrate ability to communicate both internally and externally and interact with employees at all levels within the organization.
* The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision, while handling sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner.
* Working knowledge of HRIS systems, business information, and payroll/timekeeping systems required; SuccessFactors and Kronos systems experience preferred.


ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
* Work onsite Monday through Friday.
* Sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time.
* Use computer equipment for extended periods of time.
* Travel, as needed.
