Job Description
Job Summary

The Development and Scholarship Manager is responsible for direct fundraising related to the annual fund, renewing individual donors of $1,000+, working in tandem with the direct mail campaign. Acknowledging that good stewardship of current donors leads to renewed support, this position is also responsible for managing the endowed scholarships, working with other departments such as Academic and Student Affairs to track scholarship awards, updating annual proceeds with the business office, engaging donors with the scholarship students, and coordinating the annual scholarship lunch.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As a key member of the development team, the Development & Scholarship Manager:
  • Attends concerts and other performances, invites donors to same, helps with related development details.
  • Works with the team on strategies and programs that engage, communicate with, and ask supporters for gifts.
  • Tracks activity in the Customer Relationship Management database, Raiser’s Edge.
  • Writes correspondence, reports, presentations, and collateral material.
  • In collaboration with the Manager of Individual Giving, the Development & Scholarship Manager will focus on member giving up to $2,500 with an annual fund goal of $175,000.


Education, Experience and Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 2-3 years’ experience in fundraising required. Preferably in a performing art, non-profit, or higher education environment.
  • Love of classical music, higher education, and the arts in general preferred.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred. Experience in fundraising essential.
  • Detail-oriented with attention to small details and ensures accuracy in all tasks.
  • Prioritizes tasks effectively and meets deadlines consistently.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Heavy computer and phone usage. Working after hours attending, managing and supporting events. May participate in offsite meetings and events.
