The Transportation Research Center Inc. is seeking to hire a Research Engineer to support research related to cybersecurity vulnerabilities on commonly used wireless and physical interfaces on motor vehicles. The Cybersecurity Research Engineer is responsible for performing and analyzing research across various disciplines, working with engineers to conduct complex engineering testing and analyses, and providing technical reports and presentations to assist in planning and direction. Demonstrated ability working with multiple programming languages is required. ?Experience analyzing binaries with Ghidra or IDA Pro, using Linux at the command line level, and designing/analyzing circuitry is preferred. A Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Computer Information Science, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or similar discipline and/or previous experience conducting cybersecurity research is preferred.
Essential Functions*
Develop and use of analytical procedures, component and/or full-scale vehicle testing
Conduct research relating to a wide variety of motor vehicle safety issues
Perform design analyses of motor vehicle safety systems
Evaluate technical proposals
