SUMMARY
The Materials Coordinator's role is primarily to schedule and facilitate the processing schedule while maintaining accurate costing of coils and reducing aged inventory. Responsible for working with the production, processing & traffic departments to ensure the timely delivery of processed materials. Responsible for creating schedules that maximize efficiency while reducing scrap. Reports to the Materials Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Contribute to profit by scheduling in a manner to minimize downtime and maximize run times.
* Accurately use software to communicate order information to slitter and reduction mill operators.
* Effectively communicate internally with sales, production, purchasing and shipping to satisfy customer needs.
* Exercise proper inventory control methods to utilize and rotate old inventory.
* Recognize special lead times and shipping constraints to specific geographic areas to meet shipping schedules.
* Work with receiving department to ensure incoming raw material meets ClarkDietrich specifications.
* Review exception and non-conformance reports and resolves issues in a timely manner.
* Coordinate with purchasing department about the transfer of material between ClarkDietrich plants.
* Schedule the super welder and ensures reduction quality material is passed to the reduction mill.
* Assist the processing department in determining available material to process.
* Assist Slitter Scheduler with the creation of set ups and optimizes yield % and run time with minimal arbor changes.
* Ensure slit coils have been properly costed in a timely manner.
* Help maintain accuracy and orderliness of raw material.
* Ensures all manufacturing personnel follow ClarkDietrich safety rules.
SAFETY
  • Works safely and follows all safety rules and operational procedures.
  • Wears and maintains all required PPE.
  • Keeps assigned work area clean at all times.
  • Understands all safety devices and their operation. Notifies management if safety devices are malfuctioning or missing prior to operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Mechanically Inclined.
* Problem Solver.
* Team Oriented.
* Good Communication Skills.
EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE
* Associate Degree in Business or related discipline preferred
* Working knowledge of manufacturing as it relates to raw and finished goods.
* Must be able to plan and organize multiple tasks.
* Must have basic understanding of Manufacturing processes and skill with the MRP system (Profit), and production capacities and capabilities.
* Must be competent in all general computer skills.
MATHMATICAL SKILLS
* Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimals.
* Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer and caliper accurately.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* Lifting minimal
* Standing off and on, 2 hours per day
* Walking off and of, 4-6 hours per day
* Body positions sitting and walking
* Grasping both hands, occasionally
* Sitting primarily
WORK ENVIORNMENT
* Manufacturing facility-exposed to heat and cold
* Personal Protective Equipment required at all times
* Controlled Noise exposure
* Acitivity level is high- continuous movement
