Learning & Development Leader - Cincinnati Plant:

OVERVIEW:

The Learning Leader will be accountable for creating procedures and practices to build capability and drive a culture of equipment ownership in line with the plant Master Plan & Compelling Business Need, and for implementing learning methodologies and support systems aligned to regional and global L&D standards. He or she will positively impact the Cincinnati Plant's key deliverables through the development and execution of Training Strategies across the plant. This role will shape our learning and development culture by leading the deployment of knowledge and skill building to support overall plant objectives. This position will be responsible for effectively influencing across functions, building capability at various levels and developing tools and processes to increase manufacturing stability and to improve employee capability.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead the site L&D Pillar to support Zero Loss Culture
  • Deploy and maintain L&D standard work processes and currently utilized best practices
  • Create a modern and effective organizational learning strategy and vision that aligns with current and future business priorities
  • Effectively utilize and manage learning technologies programs and equipment
  • Conduct learning needs analysis to identify and address gaps
  • Identify, lead and develop technical trainers and assessors to build their capability and maintain the integrity of the site training and qualification systems
  • Coach and partner with plant leadership and line teams to develop value added training plans and follow through with the execution of plans
  • Drive a culture of Equipment Ownership by partnering with Line Leadership teams to identify production losses resulting from Work Process Failure; Develop resulting training interventions to build employee capability.
  • Develop and ensure the alignment of learning and development initiatives with technology enablers such as Connected Worker, Axonify, and Cereal TAP
  • Drive cultural change by partnering with plant leadership to develop a culture of technical expertise, effective work teams, and Engaging Leaders
  • Partner with line managers and technical teams to develop JTAs and skills/behavior assessments for career progression
  • Define strategy for training record keeping, including compliance training requirements and how to track who is qualified to perform specific jobs
  • Establish an L&D Management System for the plant to centralize and organize learning material storage
  • Develop learning curriculum including training processes to support deeper technical mastery
  • Create written and hands-on assessments to assess foundational understanding of concepts
  • Support employee learning through facilitation of development activities for functional work teams
  • Manage Training Coordinator direct report
  • Provide organizational support for site HR processes
  • Create and manage site L&D budget

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Extensive knowledge of training methodologies and application of functional, technical and soft skill capability building
  • Experience in creating and executing learning strategies
  • Demonstrated understanding L&D Management and Training & Qualification Systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong preference for leadership experience in manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong results orientation
  • Strong process leadership and process improvement mindset
  • Demonstrates Servant Leadership
  • Ability to influence and lead change at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to plan, lead, and execute strategic initiatives in a fast-paced, complex environment (i.e. project management experience)

Salary Range



The salary range for this position is $77900.00 - $117000.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
