Job Description
General Dynamics Land Systems-Tallahassee Operations is looking for an experienced Electrician to join our team. This role will require you to be a dependable, hardworking, and comprehensive team member while supplying impeccable customer service to other employees and contractors who work on site and abroad. The position will require you to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using the proper test equipment, safety equipment, and hand tools, to locate root causes, diagnosis the issues, and perform corrective actions.
Responsibilities:
* Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged components as needed.
* Prepare and assemble conduits systems, rate circuits, pull wire, and terminate low voltage systems (under 600 volts) including UPS and backup power systems.
* Connect wiring to specialty electrical circuits which could include network, HVAC and other control systems.
* Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, outlets, circuit-breakers, panels etc.)
* Over-all understanding of local, state, and federal regulations and codes for safe electrical systems installations for current and future projects.
* Communicate effectively with other personnel in the department and other departments to discuss project details through the use of email, IM and phone.
* Follow assigned duties by the Manager which includes preventive maintenance, scheduling contractors for onsite work, over-seeing completion of work orders, and general maintenance duties.
* On-Call duties required once acclimated to the position.
Skills:
* Personal interaction and the use of effective customer service skills while using the approach of honesty, courtesy, and respect is a must.
* Proven experience in all aspects of being an electrician.
* Experience in residential and commercial electrical systems required.
* Demonstrable ability to use electrical hand tool and power tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter, power drill, band saws etc.) essential.
* Ability to follow safety procedures, regulatory procedures, and work guidelines key.
* Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities required.
* Self-motivated and driven to get the job done while following quality standards.
* Operation of a company vehicle required.
Qualifications/License:
* Driver's License and clean Motor Vehicle Report required.
* Licensed-Certified Electrician preferred.
