Job Summary:

As a Commercial Financial Analyst / Financial Analyst II, you will provide critical financial support to various Newark/Farnell business functions, with a primary focus on the America's Sales team. Your responsibilities will include financial analysis, forecasting, variance explanation, proactive data exploration, and help business partners understand their financial results.

You will need to be a good communicator have proficiency in Excel, SQL (can learn on the job), and using reporting tools like Qlikview and PowerBI will be essential. Additionally, you'll develop expertise in our systems and processes to address any data-related issues.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, Marketing, and other business functions to provide financial insights and support.
  • Understand the specific needs of the America's sales team and tailor financial guidance accordingly.
  • Responds to information requests from internal customers and others as assigned.
  • Develops financial reports for forecasting, trending, and narrative results analysis for management.
  • Develops and distributes standard and ad-hoc monthly reporting.
  • Reviews and analyzes reports in order to verify results.
  • Proactively provide timely, insightful, actionable and accurate analysis and recommendations to key internal customers / functional groups based on analysis of key performance metrics.
  • Explain variances to budgets/forecasts and identify areas for improvement.
  • Track and calculate customer rebates and work with Accounting to accrue the expense.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Level Specifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of principles, theories and concepts in area of discipline. Competent in all job functions and has general understanding of the industry practices, techniques and standards.
  • Develops solutions for a variety of situations and works on projects requiring evaluation and analysis. May refer to policies, practices and precedents for guidance; determines best course of action to achieve results.
  • Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. May receive some limited guidance for new assignments. Work may be reviewed for overall adequacy.
  • Collaborates with management and team members within the department/function and other areas of the organization. May represent department internally or externally.
  • Actions may impact the success of the overall department and/or the organization. Failure to accomplish work or erroneous decisions may result in delays to projects, loss of revenue or allocation of additional resources to remedy.


Work Experience:

  • Typically 3+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.


Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.


Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • Needs to have strong Excel skills.
  • SQL experience is a strong plus (candidate will have to learn SQL).
  • Familiarity with data and reporting systems is a plus.
