Position Overview

Position will support day to day operations through the execution of maintenance activities across the Springfield plant. This includes completing assigned work orders and supporting production equipment reliability to minimize production downtime.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in efficient and reliable operation of the Maintenance department.
  • Work independently with little supervision or assistance.
  • Perform work orders and inspections as defined in the preventative maintenance (PM) programs and keep up to date records of these activities in PM database.
  • Perform PMs as scheduled, including laser alignment, leveling, and squaring of pumps and replacing broken components.
  • Assist in the inventory of essential maintenance materials and critical equipment spare parts.
  • Utilize Production Management System to update work order status.
  • Perform mechanical equipment installations in the field.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems, determine maintenance solutions, and execute.
  • Proactively identify and report maintenance needs for facility improvement.
  • Share equally in off shift call out coverage for maintenance department based on pre-determined schedule.
  • Work with contractors as needed during maintenance activities.
  • Other duties as required by Lead Technician.
Competencies

  • Communication - utilizes written, verbal and/or electronic communication to keep up to date on activities within the site. Communicates directly, honestly, respectfully and in a timely manner. Uses communication skills that enhance teamwork (listens first).
  • Competent with performing millwright and minor pipefitting and welding jobs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity and experience working on equipment used in the process industries i.e. Pumps, valves, tanks, compressors, generators, boilers, chillers, scrubbers, etc.
  • Process Safety Management related experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience around LOTO, confined space entry, hot work, high work, etc.
  • Physically capable of working from heights, walking upstairs, bending, ability to lift 55 pounds, climbing, etc.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to quality and focus on the customer.
  • Computer literacy - Microsoft Office, SAP or equivalent

Education Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent is required. Associate degree/vocational certification in mechanics or another related field preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of maintenance experience in the chemical process industries.
  • Prior experience as a millwright or Oregon State Millwright card
  • Electrician combination
