Covia is looking for a dynamic Inside Sales Representative who will have a positive impact on the Sales Support team at its Chardon, OH location. This position could also be located in Cleveland, OH, Serena, IL or Fresno, TX.

The successful candidate will have the following Key Accountabilities:

General Sales Responsibilities and Management:

  • Meet with ship-to and bill-to accounts on a regular basis (both personal and phone visits), meeting with upper management to discuss sales trends, sales volume by product, and quality and production issues
  • Adhere to Covia Safety & Health practices in the workplace.
  • Develop, qualify, and manage list of target accounts and prospects; develop into opportunities.
  • Participate in opportunity pipeline calls for various business lines.
  • Generate leads and provide timely responses to inquiries, directing to other teams as appropriate.
  • Submit concise, accurate inside sales variance reports on a timely basis.
  • Make sales calls (phone or direct on key/major accounts) on established frequency (TBD by sales mgt.), joining account managers on key account sales calls when needed.
  • File timely customer complaints and follow up to conclusion.
  • Perform miscellaneous administration duties including: SFDC Sales Reports, Customer Quotations, Freight Requests, Price Exceptions, Sample Requests, Opportunity Reports, Competitive Data Entry.
  • Work with sales and pricing to implement price increases.
  • Assist in developing sales plans, budgets and annual forecast.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
  • Utilize communication and reporting database systems (SFDC, Outlook, IFS, etc.).
  • Represent Covia at selected trade association meetings and conventions. Manage the presentation of advertising and sales promotion activities to customers and prospects in accordance with marketing plans.
  • Meet budgetary volume and revenue targets.

Inside Sales Team Administration:

  • Work to develop accounts while learning key production processes with the goal of transitioning into a key account manager
  • Coordinate between intercompany departments to ensure positive customer experience.
  • Complete additional projects and assignments as requested by manager to achieve goals.

The successful candidate will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; High school diploma or equivalent and commensurate years of experience accepted in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of experience in an administrative, sales, or customer service position required; four plus years preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Detail oriented; able to read RFP / legal documents and decipher.
  • Good phone etiquette; professional manner.
  • Strong listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills; professional outgoing personality.
  • Capable of managing own work and work of others.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to learn ERP, CRM, and other business process tools (SalesForce, Navision)
  • Ability to travel 25%
