Position Summary

Our Family Preservation Team has an immediate opening for a Family Worker (FW). The FW collaborates with families to build a partnership to ensure their needs are met. FW's strive to provide individualized, strengths-based, culturally sensitive, and goal- driven service. This position requires local travel and flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule.

As one of the 2019 Pittsburgh Post Gazette's Top Work Places, we invite you to join our Family Preservation Team. This program is an intensive in-home preservation program designed to help families stay together and keep children out of foster care. Family Preservation provides immediate crisis intervention and stabilization for families.

Essential Responsiblities

  1. To ensure proper assessment the Family Worker will:
    1. Gather and understand current and past psychosocial histories.
    2. Use diagnostic tools to provide comprehensive information for a treatment plan.
    3. Assess risk factors related to safety and well being of all family members.
    4. Provide clinical direction that meet the needs of the child and family.
  2. To ensure the development of effective treatment plan/services, the Family Worker will:
    1. Plan and lead treatment team meetings for the purpose of creating treatment plans/ISP.
    2. Work with team members to develop ownership for the treatment plan/ISP.
    3. Write and utilize specific measurable goals, objectives, and time frames for each child and family.
    4. Develop crisis plan for each child and family.
  3. To ensure implementation and evaluation of effective treatment plans that fosters goal attainment, the Family Worker will:
    1. Deliver services outlined in treatment plan/ISP.
    2. Monitor and record client/family progress.
    3. Provide advocacy for family to outside agencies.
    4. Evaluate and reform goals and objectives as necessary.
    5. Provide support to families in times of crisis.

    Essential Qualifications

    • Education/Licensure/Certification
      • Requires valid state driver's license and vehicle insurance.
    • Clearances. State Police/FBI per state regulations; Child Protection; Mandated Reporter.

    Working Conditions

    1. Physical Demands. Requires vision, speech, and hearing
    2. Environmental Factors. Normal administrative office environment
    3. Working Hours. Mon- Friday as set by the Program Director
      Qualifications

      Education
      Bachelors of Human Services (required)

      Experience
      1 years: Experience working with children and/or families. (required)
