Work Location: Hybrid: each week, this role works from our corporate office in Akron, Ohio 2 days and works remotely 3 days; travel to other northeast Ohio locations may be required.
This role will require international travel.

Role Objective

Ensure the quality, reliability and uptime of GOJO tooling through proactive analysis of tools, molds, maintenance records, process capability studies, component quality, life cycle status, projected service demands, and risk assessments. Disciplined scientific approach, to detailed data collection and generation, documented statistical analytics and formal reports. Efficient and organized information collection and storage with user friendly access and flexible report format capabilities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Participates in the development and implementation of strategies and processes for maintenance of existing tools, and the design and build of new tools
  • Maintains documentation of tooling preventive maintenance, modification or repair of GOJO owned tools
  • Technical liaison for troubleshooting quality concerns, identifying and implementing corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) for molded components
  • Creates and maintains database for production tooling and engineering prototype tooling
  • Identifies critical to quality measurements (CTQ) in AutoCAD or Creo drawings
  • Creates and maintains documentation system for engineering trial data.
  • Cross-references engineering documents to Change Controls
  • Follows and supports current Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP)
  • Ensures security and preservation of records in storage
  • Reviews current information management methods and recommends improvements
  • Conducts orientations and trainings of team members in tooling processes
  • Assesses tooling vendors' design, equipment, and process capabilities
  • Assists engineering & maintenance staff on production and prototype tooling and processes
  • Creates and maintains engineering documentation
  • Through the use of engineering measurement tools, verifies and documents mechanical components
  • Participates in cost reduction activities and projects as directed
Education and Experience
  • PLASTICS engineering experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in plastics or engineering preferred; in addition to degree, minimum of one (1) injection molding or tool engineering experience required, either as an intern/co-op or employee
  • In lieu of degree, minimum five (5) years' of molding or tool engineering experience required
  • Practical experience using Creo or SOLIDWORKS required
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking skills required, in addition to strong technical skills

Supervision/Coordination

This role does not supervise others but does coordinate project work with other technical resources.

Travel Requirements
Travel - valid passport required for international travel
Overnight Travel - 20% or greater - required
