Essential Functions

Property Expense:

  • Provide insight & strategic analysis of spend categories and opportunities for leverage across the WPG portfolio.
  • Support with analysis, budgeting/forecasting guidance, proactive communication for identified key spend accounts within the overall portfolio. This includes working with VP, Procurement and assisting with preparing the necessary financial analysis related to proposed savings initiatives, updating data throughout the negotiation process and providing strategic updates to Senior Management. Ad-hoc analysis will be required as the business evolves.
  • Establish a process for repeatable reporting to ensure consistency in reporting/analysis.
  • Develop expertise in the flow of data within and across systems to design reporting procedures that ensure accuracy and consistency over time.
  • Assist in the design and development of sourcing and supplier performance templates including governance of the process to establish a cadence for supplier and stakeholder management.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests and questions related to budget, forecast, spend and contract information.
  • Participate in ad hoc vendor meetings to ensure understanding of agreements by both parties

Energy Analytics:

  • Perform benchmark studies comparing operating costs prior to Energy Management
  • Analyze historical usage/trends and loads (by product type, location, etc.)
  • Review and analyze tenant utility consumption and work with utility engineers to ensure correct billing
  • Review WPG financial reports to ensure tenants are being billed appropriately.
  • Partners with management team on issues and opportunities for building load management
  • A willingness and ability to institute change and inter-organizational influence skills.
  • ESG:
    • Ensure timely data gathering for annual, quarterly, and monthly reporting.
    • Performance of monitoring, measurement, analysis and evaluation.
  • Assists with various projects in conjunction with other Regional Directors, Director and Vice President/Regional Director of Properties

Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Partner with multiple departments throughout the organization
  • Performs other duties as required by Manager

Skills (Desired Abilities):

  • Must be detail oriented, work well in a fast-paced environment and able to change tasks quickly
  • Interest in commercial real estate, retail and/or strategic planning preferred
  • Proficient in Excel and/or Power BI
  • Analytical thinking and strong communication skills are a must
  • Ability to manage data, research topics proficiently and think holistically

Qualifications (Education and Experience):

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student working on their masters with preferred majors in Business, Economics or similar fields
