The Pediatric Emergency Department at Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital (Fairfax Medical Campus) is seeking an Experienced Pediatric, ED RN to join the team as a Trauma Nurse Specialist

Schedule: Fulltime, Night shift

Requires 2 years minimum Peds ED experience

Job Summary:

  • The Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department (ED) Trauma Specialist supports and adheres to hospital policies, procedures, philosophies and missions.
  • Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines.
  • Uses an integrated approach toward achieving desired patient outcomes while ensuring improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in lifelong learning.
  • Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills in decision making and problem solving while providing safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way.
  • Utilizes standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery while incorporating data and information to continuously improve care/practice and to enhance outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Experience Required: Two years of Pediatric ED RN experience in a Leveled Trauma hospital.
  • Education: BSN required.
  • Clinical Certification required:
    • BLS via AHA
    • ACLS
    • PALS
  • Licensure: Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
