Job Description

Fugro Marine Geotechnics service line provides marine geotechnical services to determine and manage the ground risk associated with marine project development. Using technical expertise, advanced exploration tools, field and laboratory testing, computer simulations, and quantitative methods, we identify, evaluate, and resolve your geotechnical design challenges.

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of machines, creating precision parts, and contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our production processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.

  • Operate various machine toolsto produce precision metal parts, including lathes, milling machines, CNC, and grinders.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate basic or specialized machine tools.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and machining procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and other team members to achieve optimal production results.

Job Requirements

  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid passport and travel internationally at times.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Machinist.
  • Strong understanding of metal properties and other materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
  • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
  • Good communication abilities.
