About this Position:

The New Model Engineer will serve as a T-Stage Zone Lead within the East Liberty Plant (ELP) Weld (WE) department, responsible for Weld process maturation, supporting all New Model and Mass Production activity in the department to execute projects and sustain current and future business goals.

Responsibilities include:

* Plan/execute activity for build events, cycle up, maturation, & report status to T-Stage Lead

* Communicate with T-Stage Lead, ADC Zone members, and MMC groups to ensure work is on schedule and specifications are clearly communicated

* Weekly meetings for zone activity related to DWG's, build events, pending items

* Review information from ADC and identify any gaps related to documents or teaching

* Lead 2-3 zone support associates and support Weld department with any Current or New Model requests

* Weld and sealer confirmations during build events, report back to T-Stage lead and Dept.

* Analyze/understand parts master list and applications for responsible zone - model types

* Follow build schedule, sort and ship parts to ELP for build events, distribute parts lineside

* Oversee current and new model training plans for Weld department, zone-specific training

* Work with Safety and Process group to complete Ergonomic Risk Assessments for zone processes

* Read Parts drawings, Spec Notices, 3D CATIA data, communicate with Process/Quality

Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:

* 0-6 years' dependent upon education level

Required Education:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, manufacturing) or 6 years' equivalent experience

Desired skills:

* Microsoft Office - Excel and PowerPoint

* 2D and 3D drafting utilities - CAD and CATIA; analytical problem solving and decision making; project management; read drawings and know parts for zones

Additional Position Factors:

* Occasional split/second/weekend shift support required

* Weekly overtime

* 40% Fast-paced manufacturing environment, 60% office environment. +/- 10% depending on necessary work.
