Position Summary

Maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of a limited scope of medical equipment under the guidance and direct supervision of an experienced healthcare technology management (HTM) professional.

Essential Functions

  • Repairs and maintains general biomedical equipment (non-life support or non-critical care)

    * IV pumps

    * Vital sign monitor

    * Thermometers

    * Etc.

  • Performs scheduled and nonscheduled PM checks on general biomedical equipment (non-life support or noncritical medical equipment).
  • Documents work orders and PM checks.
  • Provides basic level of technical support to clinical staff.
  • Assists HTM II and HTM III with diagnoses and repair of critical/high-risk biomedical equipment.
  • Understands and manages input of critical data points needed for cyber security program.
  • Orders parts and materials as needed.
  • Assists with biomed coverage of other UH system sites as training progresses.
