    Egan Company is looking for a Virtual Construction (VC) Intern at our corporate headquarters located in Brooklyn Park, MN. This position has a flexible start and end date for a 12-week summer internship.

    The VC Intern is responsible for analyzing engineered 2D and 3D contract drawings, schematics, models and specifications and modeling them in a 3D environment for coordination, fabrication, and installation.

    Responsibilities

    The basic responsibilities of the VC Intern include but are not limited to the following:

    • Model electrical systems in a 3D environment using Revit software, for coordination and fabrication purposes.
    • Learn the Navisworks program and utilize it for clash detection.
    • Participate in 3D Coordination meetings.
    • Proactively communicate with Egan trade partners to resolve coordination conflicts during the pre-construction coordination phase.
    • Produce accurate shop fabrication drawings, spool sheets, details, and bills of material for purchasing using Revit software.
    • Coordinate with Field Leaders to review shop drawings and field installation drawings prior to releasing materials to shop fabrication.
    • Submit shop fabrication orders to Egan shops using SIS (Shop Information System) software.
    • Support additional model related tasks such as Trimble Total Station.
    • Support the needs of a diverse customer base in a fast-paced customer service-oriented environment.
    • Willingness to ask questions related to daily tasks and responsibilities.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of one year electrical systems experience or education such as field installation and/or aspects of design.
    • Ability to accurately read 2D drawings and specifications and ability to design according to provided requirements.
    • Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as Google Suite, Word, and Excel.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide sufficiently to perform standard mathematical calculations.
    • Working knowledge of Revit is preferred.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to partner with all levels of internal and external customers.
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

    Working Conditions

    • Performance of duties in the office, with occasional travel to job sites for field verification.
