At Amcor Rigid Packaging (ARP), our teams are focused on developing and making plastic bottles and jars that create a unique experience and are better for the environment. Our bottles and jars are primarily made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which has rapidly become the world's preferred packaging material. PET is lightweight, shatterproof, recloseable, resealable, reusable and infinitely recyclable*.

Specific Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Abides by all Amcor's Safety and Quality policies and procedures.

Has authority to stop machines/production to communicate safety, quality, machine problems, and breakdowns to Production Supervisor or Management representative.

Control Process

  • Continuous improvement
  • Review process data daily:
    • Ensure that machines are running established standard cycles times and cavitations.
    • Ensure established resin, regrind, PCR, and additive consumption standards are adhered to within the assigned area.
  • Maintain quality standards
  • Ensure good safety practices
  • Maintain clean working environment, including accountability for GMP items
  • Ensure that maintenance needs are addressed in the area
  • Ensure that downtime is accurately entered in the FMS system, within fifteen (15) minutes of the downtime

Enhance Operator Skills

  • Evaluate and improve operator skill level, assist in levels training.
  • Classroom training
  • On the job training

Communication and Support

  • Is the leader of their team
  • First contact to verify problem
  • Provides basic troubleshooting and maintenance on blow molding/injection molding equipment
  • Completes downtime reports and error logs
  • Communicates technical issues to Supervisor, Process Engineer, Process Specialist, and Production Manager
  • Maintains Visual Management Boards
  • Provides relief for operator breaks (secondary responsibility)
  • Attend and participates in Blow molding/injection Team's daily meetings
  • Allocate resources, including staffing, to achieve performance, training, and shift objectives
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs, as necessary, to minimize downtime and spoilage
