  • Customer: create analytics to improve customer satisfaction along the customer journey for a lifetime as they move-in to a residence, pay their bill and track outage repairs.
  • Transmission & Distribution: develop algorithms to detect asset failures, reduce outages and provide reliable electricity to customers.
  • Smart Meter: provide customers with the electric usage they need to make smart decisions about their home as well as reduce threats and theft in the electric system.

What you'll do:

As a Business Analyst in the Digital Factory at FirstEnergy you will join a digital transformation team working in an Agile environment and provide expertise to a squad working to deliver a specific product. On the Advanced Analytics team, you will work with data scientists and data engineers who build machine learning, artificial intelligence and/or statistical models to answer critical questions and product actionable insights for business units. You will spend your day working directly with a Product Owner and be the source of business information, requirements, and analysis for a team.

  • You will collaborate with a Product Owner to shape the end-to-end product strategy and determine business value.
  • You will elicit requirements to accomplish team goals.
  • You will utilize market and industry knowledge to translate user needs into user stories and acceptance criteria for their team; collaborate with the squad and Product Owner to maintain a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team.
  • You will serve as the day-to-day contact for the team on clarification of requirements and drive user stories.
  • Exercise strong decision-making mandate across the team as a proxy to the Product Owner.
  • You will stay in sync with the Product Owner on priorities and day to day decision making.
  • You will support the Product Owner in collaborating with other teams and leadership to ensure team strategy aligns with overall product vision.
  • You will lead business case building and support value assurance of digital solutions.
  • You will define, implement, and track performance metrics once solution enters production.
  • You will prep and support the team on product demos.

What You Will Need to be Qualified:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business oranotherrelated field along with 4years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, 6years of related experience required.
    • Related experience includes, but is not limited too: requirements gathering, product ownership, testing, Agile, relationship building.
  • Have experience leading and working with teams as an analyst using an agile scrum methodology.
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced iterative delivery model with experience in agile tools like Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Relevant strong systems and field knowledge from experience within the organization. Can quickly learn industry trends / domains and end user demands from pain points.
  • Have experience using techniques like cost-benefit analysis for feature prioritization; be able to lead business case-building processes.
  • Have strong communication skills with ability to present complex messages and trade-offs and tell a compelling story.
  • Be able to articulate business requirements and bridge the gap with development teams and stakeholders.
  • Be a strong problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solution and progress.
  • Not be afraid to "roll up the sleeves" and dig into a problem. Pushes your team to do the same.
  • Have a mindset to drive innovation while empowering others to fail learn and grow.
  • Utilize team collaboration to create innovative solutions efficiently.
