As Senior Manager, Global Learning & Organizational Development, this role is critical to shape and execute Avient's talent development strategy. The incumbent will partner with leaders and the HR organization to understand the business and workforce needs to develop and deploy programs that unleash the full potential of our associates. Most notably, this role will continue to enhance and facilitate our global programs, focused on sharpening leadership skills at all levels of the organization. Reporting to the Talent Management Director, this individual will interact at all levels of the organization across the globe, to ensure the company is developing employees in a way that is innovative, collaborative, and effective with a D&I lens.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Key focus is to drive Avient's leadership development programs, inclusive of preparing executives to deliver content, assessing program learning objectives and enhancing content aligned to the organization's core competencies, values and cultural journey
  • Assesses shifting needs for leaders to be successful in the organization and deploying content that can enable success and support business needs
  • Interacts with the highest levels in the organization including the CEO on a regular basis to execute programs.
  • Leads a team of global associates and contractors who design & deliver all aspects of the company's training and development processes.
  • Manages a budget of approximately $1.5M including vendor management and contracts
  • Assesses and identifies organizational training and development needs in partnership with the businesses / functions and then determines content to support those needs.
  • Partners with Diversity & Inclusion Advancement Director to ensure a D&I lens is applied to learning and development opportunities. Takes into account cultural differences around the world to apply global programs with local focus.
  • Researches and identifies training and educational programs to meet the training and development needs of the organization based on Avient's key competencies. Tracks and reports training program usage and evaluates program effectiveness.
  • Drives global career development and succession planning processes utilizing Avient's HR platform to support leaders for top talent associates to have individual development plans in place.
  • Leads organizational development initiatives, programs, and processes. Involved in workforce planning and development conversations to drive holistic thinking on talent
  • Conducts and/or identifies resources and tools for team development, such as teambuilding sessions and other interventions. Inclusive of conducting and/or identifying resources and tools for individual development, such as 360 feedback, coaches, outside leadership programs, volunteer organizations, etc.
  • Provides tools to HR managers to facilitate individual and organizational development, such as new leader assimilations, development guides, mentoring programs, and global learning management tool.

Education, Experience and Skills to be Successful:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's with a strong passion for developing people
  • Must have strong critical thinking skills
  • Must be able to analyze data effectively to "tell the story" behind the information.
  • Must be able to multitask with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Must be comfortable in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.) with the ability to convey materials & data in a modern and visual manner
  • Must be an excellent communicator and able to work in a team environment
  • The ideal candidate will thrive in fast-paced environments, will be able to balance a high workload, and will excel at multi-tasking
  • Must have good leadership and influence skills to be seen as a partner to the business
  • Must be outgoing, high energy, and enjoy frequent interaction with others
  • Must be an excellent communicator and able to work in a team environment
  • Experience as a trainer / facilitator is a plus
  • Must be able to travel as required for successful execution of the essential functions of the position
