The Opportunity:

This is a part-time, paid, entry-level position at Data Society, for a student pursuing a graduate degree or certificate in instructional design. This role requires the employee to have a strong understanding of instructional design theories, practice, methods, and be excited to work with a dynamic team on both online and in-person training offerings. The instructional design intern will assist with the development of educational materials for complex topics and the planning and delivery of synchronous training events.The purpose of this internship is to provide the new designer with experience in training development and delivery and an opportunity to help define how data science and other cutting edge topics should be taught to a professional audience. This role will earn $20.00 per hour, and can translate to a higher-paid full-time role for the right person.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Crafting and editing presentations, job aids, and deliverables for multiple curriculums and subject areas in the realms of data and innovation
  • Supporting and collaborating with other instructional designers to meet content creation timetables
  • Organizing, planning, and supporting the development and delivery of synchronous training events for companies and government clients as they build world-class training and coursework
  • Maintaining continuous course developments, updates, and deliveries across a portfolio of courses with a variety of objectives including data literacy, improved data management, data science competency, and increased innovation
  • Serving as a liaison between instructors, students, and the content creation team for all stages of training design and delivery

Skills You Bring:

  • Strong understanding of instructional design theories, practice, and methods
  • Ability to prioritize multiple, concurrent assignments while delivering on-time and high-quality materials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office, Google applications, and video conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom), and familiarity with training and learning management systems
  • Drive and willingness to learn about data science and related topics and a passion for making that learning accessible
