Job/Internship Description

When you visit a cool website, do you ever right-click to view its source code? Do you find yourself asking how the code on your desktop can adapt to your phone? Have you ever wondered how web accessibility works? If so, Reingold may be the place for you!

Reingold is seeking our next front-end web developer intern to support our cutting-edge digital experience team. This internship is a fully remote, full-time (40 hours), paid position with an hourly rate based on experience and qualifications. The winter internship class runs January through April.

Reingold is an award-winning, digital-first marketing firm with a 30-year track record of developing and launching inventive campaigns that drive impact. Our dedication to supporting meaningful projects has led us to work in the education, health care, government, and nonprofit and association sectors.

At Reingold, you'll join a community of experienced and supportive front-end developers who will help you learn how to convert designs into front-end code and build reusable and accessible templates.

Intern responsibilities may include:

  • Enhancing and debugging web features and helping gather requirements.
  • Maintaining process flow and documentation, and being able to work from written specifications and guidelines.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to bring a web design mock-up to life in the browser.
  • Modeling components for content management systems, considering the experience of both the end user and the author.
  • Performing ad hoc tasks depending on your skills and our needs.

We're looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:

  • Formal training in computer science or web development, through either a four-year college program or an immersive professional training program.
  • Strong skills in semantic HTML and modern CSS.
  • Familiarity with SCSS.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript and jQuery.
  • Ability to write clean, scalable code.
  • Ability to use established development tools, guidelines, and conventions, including Visual Studio Code, and Git source control.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to consult and collaborate with senior managers and clients.
  • Curious, with a problem-solving attitude.

Experience with PatternLab and atomic design is a plus.

Reingold is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer. Women, minorities, veterans, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
