We are looking for talented interns to join us for our2022 Summer Internship program at our Corporate offices in San Diego, CA.You should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and will finish the internship having gained valuableexperience in renewable energies.


Scope of Job:
This Transmission Analytics perform historical congestion assessmentsincluding of market prices, constraints and outage data; collect and analyze market data in support to transmission modeling activities. The position will also be providing analytics support to power flowand production cost modeling.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience -
  • Graduate or Undergraduate Degree inEngineering, Computer Science, Statistics
  • Eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship.
  • Available for full time hours.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities -
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Familiar with R, Python or other programming/coding skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with minimum supervision
  • Entrepreneurial, energetic, and flexible personality with a bias towards action
  • Possess strong analytical and research skills
  • Able to learn quickly
  • Skilled in interpersonal relationships with strong communication skills
  • Interested in growing a career in the renewable energy market.

Working Conditions:
100% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers, phones, and general office equipment. 0% of time is spent outside of the office.

Learning Plan

Goals of the Internship
*Propose methodology to evaluate impact of slope on solar performance.
*Evaluate losses due to slope on at least two projects based on operational data
*Propose a model to evaluate losses due to slope for preconstruction projects

Skills to be acquired:
*Understanding solar modules/solar power plants. *General overview of renewables industry and a leading company in the space. *Hands on application of course material. *Problem solving

Learning/Experience plan:
*Literature review on slope: determine how to evaluate impact and most promising modeling methodologies *Leveraging analytics team python program to clean operational data *Applying selected methodologies from literature review *Comparing modeled losses to actual losses to validate model
*Training with team members on domain knowledge (solar)
*Walk through and exposure to the python package
*Literature review
