Summary
Alkermes is seeking a Process Automation engineer for our Wilmington, OH site with responsibility to provide support for automation systems related to Manufacturing, Utilities, and associated equipment. Job duties include the following: maintain standard software applications and custom modifications for automation systems including PLC, HMI, batch recipe management, and data collection systems, troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues, and support system operations in a GxP manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions
Assist in the planning, design, development, and deployment of process automation solutions
Write and maintain documentation related to automation systems
Provide run-time support, including rotational on-call support outside of normal business hours
Apply knowledge and support for 21CFR part 11 and Good Manufacturing Practices
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Computer Science or related field)
2 - 5 years of experience with automated manufacturing systems
PLC programming with Allen Bradley hardware and Rockwell Automation software solutions
Preferred Experience
Programming on Siemens PLC automation systems
User interface HMI programming, preferably FactoryTalk View SE
FactoryTalk Batch recipe management software
Experience with test protocol writing, review, and execution
Experience with filling equipment or vision systems a plus
Competencies
Understands technical details of manufacturing automation systems
Able to grasp new ideas and concepts from reading technical manuals
Excels as an analytical problem solver
Displays written and verbal communication skills
Work Environment
This position mainly operates in an office environment with occasional work on the plant floor
The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate
Travel
The travel requirements for this job are low; expected domestic or international travel 1-2 times per year
