AFC Cable Systems, a part of Atkore International, currently has a Material Handler opening in our Byesville, OH facility. Most openings will be 2nd Shift (3pm - 11pm) and 3rd Shift (11pm- 7am), Monday through Friday (Saturdays may be required); however, training may take place on any shift.

Reporting to Manufacturing Supervisor , Byesville, OH, the Material Handler's primary focus will ensure proper and consistent operation of the Material Handler process. Performs daily safety inspections and produces a good quality product.

Additional essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Performs daily safety inspection of forklift and work area
• Communicates with the previous shift
• Weighs scrap from the previous shift
• Operates fork truck following safety rules and procedures
• Follow the maximum load limits and understanding the center of gravity and its effects on load limits and how to secure loads
• Transports finished goods and raw material to the designated areas
• Loading and Unloading trailers properly following Inspection of all floors and walls of all incoming trailers before loading
• Secure trailer wheel chocks, install glad hand locks, trailer jacks when appropriate and complete the AFC Loading Dock Safety Sign Off Sheet
• Wrap steel returnable skids
• Change propane cylinders
• Using barrel attachment
• Turn in all finished goods inventory tickets
• Ensure the wrapping area is clean and organized
• Performs housekeeping of machine and area

Working Environment

This job operates on the plant floor of a manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may sometimes be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the plant environment can be loud.
