PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Wireless Network Infrastructure Lead is a technical leader that is responsible for designing, deploying, and refining wireless connectivity solutions to transform the connected worker experience. This individual ensures the overall integration, reliability, and health of our enterprise networks, while building relationships and partnering with Owens Corning 's businesses to understand their requirements and to deliver positive impact to the business.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Knowing Our Businesses and their Strategies

  • Provide guidance and have knowledge of the required development processes and tasks necessary to bring business needs to implemented solutions
  • Work collaboratively to understand business requirements but also lead conversations around best implementation practices for a given solution
  • Develop solutions that meet business needs and add value
  • Balance building fast, with building the right way, and making sure we are building the right thing

Executing Strategy

Platform Leadership

  • Design and implement wireless solutions encompassing both Wi-Fi and private cellular technologies to address diverse business needs, ensuring a seamless and robust wireless communication infrastructure across the organization.
  • Establish and define integrative global hardware, software, and support standards that drive business efficiency and performance.
  • Leverage advanced wireless planning tools for network design, analysis, documentation, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of antenna types, their use cases, and installation best practices.
  • Lead training sessions for operational team on troubleshooting techniques for wireless and LAN infrastructures.
  • Continuously stay informed and educated on product and implementation providers to influence design considerations and platform standards to meet the needs of the business such as automation and AI.
  • Develop platform specific roadmaps in collaboration with connectivity team that increase awareness of platform capabilities and establishes a clear short and long-term strategy for the platform.
  • Create comprehensive documentation on wireless and LAN network operations, including troubleshooting guides, best practices, and technical support transition plans.
  • Supervise the entire lifecycle of wireless hardware and software, ensuring compliance with functional requirements and security policies.
  • Drive curiosity and a consultative mindset when working across business and manufacturing user communities to enhance product innovation, technology design, and platform development.

Project Execution

  • Lead partner engagements for wireless infrastructure projects, ensuring that all engagements meet technical and budgetary objectives.
  • Partner with project management teams to ensure appropriate estimates, quotes, sourcing documents, and other financial related materials are in place for timely and successful execution.
  • Lead the design, implementation, testing, deployment, and strategic enhancement of wireless solutions, ensuring alignment with current and emerging network standards.
  • Present new initiatives to architecture and project governance boards which include technical designs, cost models, support plans, and relevant information to successfully move initiatives forward.

Service Delivery Excellence

  • Establish strong relationships with our key partners to ensure alignment of the platform specific strategy and overall achievement and accuracy of defined SLAs, KPIs and inventory are delivered.
  • Act as an escalation point for operational teams to help identify and resolve complex wireless and LAN operational issues, providing expert guidance and solutions.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions when operational services fall below defined targets.
  • Build relationships and partner with Owens Corning 's functional stakeholders to understand their requirements and to deliver positive impact to the business.

  • Investigate new techniques, tools, and processes to advance and scale our capability
  • Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and value of the organization
  • Lead or participate in special projects that support the long-term strategic goals of the business and/or organization

  • Assist in building the GIS talent pipeline, mentoring, and developing members of the team

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AS in Computer Science, Information Technology with industry recognized certification(s) in related field with 5 years of experience in enterprise networking; bachelor's degree preferred with 10 years of experience in wireless networking.
  • Deep knowledge of network technology, IT operations, and in-depth understanding of Wi-Fi standards and infrastructure.
  • Proficient in coordinating complex projects and activities within cross-functional teams.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Experience planning and deploying both Wi-Fi and private cellular networks.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the strategic planning and deployment of complex wireless networks within large-scale, diverse environments.
  • Strong track record in influencing cross-functional teams and delivering outstanding results in a global, culturally diverse team environment.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and confidently across all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment with broader organizational strategies and goals.
  • Ability to collaborate and demonstrate a team-oriented partnership with a focus on results
  • Ability to travel up to an estimated 15%, domestic and international
