Position Summary:
The Operations Manager, Deposits and Consumer Lending (OMDCL) is responsible for managing Telhio's support services (Operations Support and Scanning areas.) The OMDCL, plans, coordinates, and directs their staff in the day-to-day responsibilities of the entire Operations Department. This includes managing workflow, planning the use of staffing between the three areas, formulating policies and procedures and other general job duties.

What you will do:
  • Development and Monitoring of Department Process and Procedures:
    • Ensure current work flow and procedures are put into place, trained on, and used/followed.
    • Look for ways to improve the existing procedures/processes/practices of the Operations Department to increase efficiency, effectiveness and growth.
    • Ensure that all staff has the "tools" to perform their duties and responsibilities.
    • Verify that processes are being completed in the established timeframes to positively impact membership.
    • Monitor consistency in processing by staff (forms, GL transactions, account/loan maintenance,
    • Create efficiencies within the department processes and products that will result in time savings, reduction of risk and improvement of client service for internal and external clients.
    • Complete yearly escheatment process.
    • Understands role in case of robbery, whether victim or bystander, and knows proper post-robbery procedures.
  • Department Leadership:
    • Give regular feedback to staff on work performance by engaging in daily conversations with individuals and groups.
    • Monitor production within the department.
    • Oversee the staff direction to assure effective utilization of personnel.
    • Conducts timely and objective performance evaluations.
    • Monitors the knowledge and skill levels of personnel to identify development and training needs.
    • Meets regularly with staff to communicate objectives and goals, and employee input to improve department performance so that high quality information flows in both direction.
    • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
    • Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
    • Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Coach staff regularly and document pertinent issues and actions performed by their staff (work samples).
    • Create and maintain a positive work environment for Operations team.
    • Write and conduct Performance Management reviews appraisals, ensuring formal documentation of staff performance during specified periods.
    • Ensure expertise exists within staff so that staff can easily perform back up duties for coworkers ensuring business continuity.
    • Develop and train the team as a whole and individually.
  • Department Centered Tasks:
    • Complete end of month balancing and reporting.
    • Perform all work in compliance with established regulations, policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions.
    • Research deposit and consumer loan account errors, and member problems proficiently.
    • Works with external vendors to resolve client problems and inquiries.
    • Provides project support; assists with the research, evaluation, testing, installation, and monitoring of selected new vendors/systems.
    • Verify and maintain IRA documentation.
    • Assist with RMD and other required IRA reporting.
    • Index customer and account documentation to bank database.
    • Verify proper documentation and time frames for stop payments.
What you will need:
  • High School Diploma Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • 4-6 years Experience leading and managing others Required
  • 4-6 years Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Required
  • 4-6 years Years of related experience in the financial services industry; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is also required Required
  • 4-6 years Operation and Processing Experience Preferred
  • 1-3 years Strong understanding of digital banking platforms, mobile applications, online banking, online account opening technology, and related services and technologies. Preferred
  • Knowledge of: DNA Excel (Medium proficiency)
  • Demonstrated Abilities and Skilled in: Troubleshooting Ability to coach and motivate others In depth knowledge of financial products and banking regulations Attention to detail Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong problem resolution skills. (High proficiency)
