How You'll Make an Impact

The primary responsibility of this role will be to support the maintenance and sustainment of classified servers, encompassing all forms of system administration and standard operating maintenance tasks. This includes comprehensive management, regular evaluation of security controls in alignment with NIST 800-53 standards and ensuring consistent operational performance. Additionally, the position will assist the Information Systems Security Manager that oversees the servers with supporting documentation. The selected candidate will also support the Aptima Cybersecurity and Compliance Team Lead in ensuring that all compliance requirements align with NIST 800-171. The role demands strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dedicated team to ensure robust and secure server operations.


Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage server environments, including both Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Ensure system security measures are implemented and maintained in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee documentation for system administration processes and compliance activities.
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with established IT/IS security and governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with IT/IS and security teams to plan and implement system security configurations.
  • Collaborate with users and program teams to plan and implement system configurations for continued use.
  • Manage user access control and security protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and compliance checks.
  • Stay updated with the latest security systems, updates, and compliance requirements.
Requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in server administration across both Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Security Certification that aligns with DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements. (Minimum CompTIA Security +)
  • Proven experience in IT/IS security and compliance documentation within a secure environment.
  • Understanding of IT/IS governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) frameworks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Carry an active SECRET clearance.
