JobSummary:

Writes CNC programs, specifies correct tooling for applications, and works with Engineering on any MACRO's associated with automation.

Required Education/Experience:
  • High School diploma required.
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of CAD and CAM software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred).
  • Must be able to lift fifty to eighty (40-50) pounds occasionally during an eight-hour shift.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • 5+ years CNC programming experience preferred.
  • CNC programming certificate
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must be able to detect visual material defects.
  • Must be able to read/ write small numbers and letters and make arithmetic calculations.
  • Must be able to perform several tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to problems; have ability to work in a stressful environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and managers in both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Must always follow plant-wide safety procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Write CNC programs for new business.
  • Work on cycle time reductions on existing business
  • Assist in developing work instructions / operator inspection instructions.
  • Develop tooling plans and set up in our ordering system.
  • Determine max and min requirements for all tooling in the plant.
  • Establish and improve tool life for the plant.
  • Establish and maintain regrind process.
  • Work from tool prints, sketches, or verbal instructions to provide required results.
  • When conditions dictate, overtime may be required (with little or no prior notification).
