Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Respiratory Therapist is to perform all duties under medical supervision in the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the cardio-pulmonary system, and work cooperatively with the health care team in maintaining standards of care within the framework of the Ohio Respiratory Care Board (ORCB).

Position Qualifications
1. A graduate of respiratory therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
2. Current licensure to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Ohio.
3. Capable of functioning in the various roles of the Respiratory Therapist.
Working Conditions
1. Normally works eight or twelve hours per day, rotates shifts, works every other weekend and holidays as assigned.
2. Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff to maintain adequate unit coverage.
3. Subject to frequent interruptions during performance of duties.
4. Expected to adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
5. Expected to fulfill position description requirements.
6. Blood and body fluid exposure.
Physical Requirements
* Sits, stands and moves intermittently during working hours.
* Physical movement; lifting (up to 50 pounds without assistance), bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching, kneeling, and climbing and other physical functions as required.
* Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination.
* Able to interact, comprehend, speak, hear, see, stand, walk and work under varying conditions
* Able to handle stress, deadlines and interact with a wide array of personalities
