Job Description

InGenesis is currently seeking a Psychologist to work with our client. In this role, you will provide psychological services to our patient population.

Job Duties

  • Conducts individual and group counseling/psychotherapy.
  • Follows up on treatment and writes progress reports.
  • Performs psychological evaluations and/or court-ordered forensic evaluations.
  • Diffuses and de-escalates issues and role models positive behaviors.
  • Assesses inmates to identify, prevent, or contain significant lethality risks for imminent harm to self or others.
  • Coordinates services between institution mental health services and local community mental health service providers.
  • Completes re-entry accountability plans and conducts home visits to adult parole authority offenders.
  • Provides specialized therapies and psycho-educational classes.
  • Recommends policies and procedures for patient assessment, evaluation, and treatment.
  • Evaluates defendant/patient for mental status and competency to stand trial or sanity at the time of the offense.
  • Writes comprehensive forensic reports and recommendations for courts.
  • Responds to subpoenas and appears in court as an expert witness on forensic/psychological matters.
  • Acts as liaison for offenders with a treatment team, rules infraction boards, parole boards, and unit management staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current license to practice psychology as issued by the State Board of Psychology.
  • Biennial renewal of licensure as a psychologist.
  • Current CPR and first aid certification.
