Job Description


Scope of Position:
Rehabilitation team members are licensed or certified professionals (physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech/language pathologists) who work within a team structure to offer inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation services. These services are offered to the acute-care hospital, the skilled nursing facility unit, or outpatient service areas to patients who have disorders and conditions associated primarily with orthopedic problems, stroke or other neurological disorders, general medical dehabilitating conditions, vascular repair or amputation, or musculoskeletal pain. The rehab team member with the working title of occupational therapist reports to the director of rehabilitation services.

Position Summary:
The occupational therapist is part of a multidisciplinary team effort to provide appropriate care to the patient. Upon referral, the occupational therapist will assess patients and establish plans of care together with the patient and other team members; provide a wide variety of treatment techniques within the scope of the discipline; provide education and support to patients and families; and facilitate continuing care planning. Although the therapist reports directly to the director, the therapist is also responsible to assure coordination of services and programs with other team members, those they supervise (rehab assistants and aides), and other participants in patient care activities (including attending and resident physicians, nurses and their support staff, and Patient Care Resource Managers). Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy or completion of the AOTA laddering program
with successful completion of the National Registration exam.
A current license to practice occupational therapy in the State of Ohio.

Maintains professional licensure; meets mandatory education and health requirements; demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.

Community Hospital

The resources of a major teaching hospital. We see cardiac patients, neurological patients, orthopedic patients, limb salvage/plastic surgery patients, ICU and PCU patients, so a wide variety of diagnoses.

Free Parking

Two-weekend shifts a month

Two-holiday shifts a year

Typical shift is 7:30-4 but is negotiable
